Why make the Switch to People First FCU?

How do I Open an Account?

You are eligible for membership if you live, work, worship, or attend school in Lehigh or Northampton counties and you canttake advantage of all the benefits of membership.

A $5 opening deposit and balance is required to open a Primary Share Account. You may open your new account online or in person at a branch.

What is the minimum deposit to open a savings account?

A $5 minimum opening deposit and balance in a Primary Share Account is required. Then, you're free to apply for all of our other products and services.

What's different about People First FCU?

People First FCU is member owned. That means we don't have to pay out big dividends to stockholders - we don't have any. We don't have out-of-state or foreign investors. We're locally owned and operated by people just like you. And, we know the Lehigh Valley. We've been around since 1950. We're an active participant in community activities and charitable events and are always on the move to help improve the quality of life in our region.

As a member, you own us. Everything comes back to you in the form of better savings dividends (interest) and lower loan rates. When you make your initial deposit into your savings account, it isn't a membership fee. It's your money that stays in your account.

Can my family join the Credit Union?

If your family lives, works, worships or attends school in Lehigh or Northampton counties they are eligible to join in their own right. When your immediate family members reside outside of Lehigh and Northampton counties, you can extend membership to them as long as you qualify for membership. Immediate family members are defined as spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, or grandchild, stepparents, stepchildren, stepsiblings and adopted relationships.

Do I have to be a Member to apply for a Loan?

Yes. Before applying for a loan at People First FCU, you must qualify for membership and open a savings account with an initial deposit of at least $5. Immediately after opening your account, you can submit a loan application.

If I move out of the area, can I still belong to People First and how accessible are my funds?

Once you are a member of People First FCU, you are always a member. With PC Access, Bill Payer, our Member Service Center, and Interlink®, PULSE® & Plus® ATM access, you can always have access to your funds wherever you are. Moving away doesn't mean you have to leave your credit union.
